Spectral Translation
Map image position and brightness into audible frequency bands. Inspect the generated sound as a measured spectrogram. For reversible pixel encoding, use Cipher and Reconstruction.
Concentric rings
Listen for the texture opening and closing as the scan moves through the rings.

Each translation interprets a 64 × 64 image sample over 8 seconds. Download your sound before leaving.
How this mapping works
The image scans left to right over the selected duration. Rows control frequency bands and pixel brightness controls their weight. Grain adds amplitude modulation; encoding density changes its rate. This is an artistic mapping with no exact inverse.

Column 1 / 64 · time 0.000 s · brightness 49.5%
14 frequency bands sampled from this column. Contributions are pixel brightness × band weight, before the master level, envelope and effects.

This map samples selected rows; unsampled detail and original image resolution do not survive the mapping. Image-to-sound translation does not preserve all visual information.
Sound character (advanced)
Adds brighter, more complex tones.
Duration stretches the image scan and note spacing. Use Audio finishing for channel placement, output gain and loop edge fades.
Higher values raise the pitch range.
Higher values make the sound louder.
Higher values add more frequency bands.
Higher values increase band strength.
Higher values add stronger pulsing.
Higher values speed up pulsing when grain is active.
Audio finishing
Edge fading brings both ends to silence without changing duration. It softens the join but may create a rhythmic dip. MIDI and note diagrams describe the original sequence before audio finishing.
